2024 Annual General Meeting
followed by a presentation by Bethany Care Society – Building on a Legacy of Creating Caring Communities

Bethany Care Society has created a legacy of expertise and compassionate care through its mission of Creating Caring Communities and its vision of leading in the transformation of Albertans aging well. As one of Western Canada’s largest not–for–profit providers of affordable housing and continuing care for seniors and adults with disabilities, Bethany has been serving individuals and families in Calgary and southern Alberta since 1945. The growing population of seniors and the increasing incidence and complexity of medical issues like dementia are shaping the continuing care environment in the province. Bethany’s President and CEO, Jennifer McCue, will share insights on the changing landscape of care and how Bethany Care Society is continuing to adapt and innovate to meet the needs of the future.

Jennifer McCue is the President and Chief Executive Officer at Bethany Care Society.

Jennifer is a registered nurse, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master of Science in Health Services Administration. Jennifer is a fellow of the Ivey Business School Community Shift program and holds the designation of Certified Health Executive (CHE) from the Canadian College of Health Leaders. Prior to joining Bethany, Jennifer held several administrative and leadership roles throughout her healthcare career. During the Kananaskis G8 Summit, Jennifer worked with Health Canada, providing leadership for the planning and provision of health care to the G8 leaders and their families attending the Summit.

Jennifer has provided operational leadership for several multimillion-dollar healthcare projects and has expertise in working to create efficient operational environments for healthcare delivery. She has a passion for seniors’ care with a particular interest in building design for those living with dementia.

Jennifer is the past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Alberta Continuing Care Association. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Bethany Care Foundation. Jennifer is the past chair of the Southern Alberta Chapter of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) and former co-chair of the CCHL Chapter Advisory Committee and has served on several CCHL national committees.
